According to the Limpopo police, the incident took place at around 23:00 on Friday night (June 20) as the family were travelling in a silver bakkie from Gauteng.

The Limpopo police spokesperson, Col Malesela Ledwaba, said the incident unfolded near the three-mile circle on the N1 where the vehicle was stopped by an unknown vehicle.
