Two men found murdered on Kuschke gravel road identified
Families have identified the two men killed on Kuschke’s gravel road outside Polokwane, while police continue to search for their killers.
POLOKWANE – The two male bodies found along Kuschke’s gravel road (D1377) have been positively identified by their families, but their killers remain at large.
Investigating officer Col Richard Boshomane confirmed that police investigations are ongoing, after provincial police commissioner Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe ordered that a recent series of such murders be transferred to the provincial murder and robbery unit to ensure what law enforcement calls a “coordinated and thorough investigation”.
The bodies of the two African men, estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, were discovered last Tuesday afternoon.

Both had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and one victim’s hands were tied.
According to a police report, investigators recovered a cartridge case, a maroon jersey and a cash note at the scene. Anyone with information is urged to contact Col Boshomane on 079 894 5501, the Crime Stop number 08600 10111, their nearest police station, or the MySAPS App.
In a separate case, police are investigating a possible mob justice attack after the body of a severely injured man was discovered near a secondary school in Legae la Batho.
Officers were called to the scene on Saturday morning around 08:30.
The victim, believed to be about 35 years old, was found with broken limbs and burn wounds. He was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries.
Police spokesperson Sgt Ali Maluleke described the scene as “deeply disturbing” and confirmed that nearby residents questioned by police denied knowledge of the incident. Efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators and trace the victim’s family.
