Bail hearing postponed as Shebeshxt faces 3 attempted murder charges
The bail hearing for musician Lehlogonolo Chauke was postponed to November 25 amid courtroom chaos caused by a large crowd of supporters.
POLOKWANE – Popular musician Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke (30) will remain behind bars until November 25, despite widely spread fake news that he was released on R5000 bail.
Chauke is facing schedule six offenses after his older cases were merged with his new charges in the Polokwane Magistrates Court earlier this afternoon.
This requires his legal team to present “unusual reasons” why he should be granted bail, according to National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi.

The bail hearing, set to proceed today, was postponed after Chauke’s lawyer, Lot Ramusi, informed the court he had received new information and requested more time.
The court agreed, and the application will now proceed on November 25.
Courtroom Chaos and Fake News
The court proceedings drew a large crowd of the musician’s supporters, whose size ultimately caused chaos and forced police officers and Polokwane Police Station Commander, Brigadier Matome Makhura, to intervene and contain the crowd for over an hour.
