POLOWKANE – Pietersburg Comprehensive School through their community outreach programmes donated baby products, non-perishable foodstuffs and various basic amenities valued at R9 000 to Ngwana House in Polokwane on November 16.
The items were collected by learners and their parents.
Khomotso Rangongo, mathematics and science teacher said with the initiative, they wanted to inculcate the culture of giving and sharing among learners.
“Children need to learn to share and do good to others. We want them to have a will to help those who are less fortunate and always be kind to them.”
Learner Kgothatjo Bamaboea said they hope that goods will have a meaningful impact in the lives of babies residing at Ngwana House.
“The babies living at the establishment deserve love and care. They deserve to eat proper food and live in a clean environment. That was the driving force behind the whole project.”
Ngwana House manager Sandra Janse van Rensburg said they appreciate the gesture from PCS.
“We are grateful to PCS and thank them for the support. The items will be helpful at the institution especially during this time of the year.”
