Families at Mitchell House enjoyed a colourful day of inflatable fun when Big Bounce SA hosted its Ultimate Safari Adventure on the school’s sports field.

POLOKWANE – Local families experienced a day of laughter, colour and inflatable excitement when the Big Bounce SA visited Mitchell House last Saturday.

The event, hosted on the school’s sports field, brought together family and friends of all ages for a day of fun inside the massive inflatable castle.

Organised by the Mitchell House Parents Association, the day was themed ‘The Ultimate Safari Adventure’, with attendees arriving in creative safari-inspired outfits, many in matching family sets.

While some relaxed under gazebos enjoying snacks and refreshments, others tackled the inflatable course, taking on slides, climbing sections, hoops and other fun obstacles, all while braving the warm weather.

To keep everyone cool, volunteers sprayed participants with water from hoses, adding to the laughter and festive atmosphere.

Food stalls offered a variety of treats, drinks and toys, including stuffed animals to match the safari theme.

School staff and parents volunteered throughout the day, managing ticket sales and helping with the activities to ensure the event ran smoothly.

My name is Anne Mametja. I am a mom of four and an identical twin. With a passion for media, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Television Production in 2012 and due to my love for children, I also hold a certificate in Nursing Auxiliary. As media is my first love, I started working at the Polokwane Review as a journalist in 2017 and it has been amazing thus far. I love journalism because I can be a voice to the community through my work. Journalism allows me to meet different people at the events I attend. Although there are certain beats that journalists stick to, being an all-rounder means I write community, schools, sports, hard, lifestyle and entertainment news. It also allows me to be versatile in the newsroom and assist where I can. ‘Journalism can never be silent, that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault.’
