New spots for Cheetahs

PUMA has revealed the new Toyota Cheetahs kit for the Super Rugby tournament.

PUMA has revealed the new Toyota Cheetahs kit for the Super Rugby tournament.

The kit focuses on the team’s two distinct colours, orange and “poublou” turquoise, rounded off with purple numbers and trimmings, but with a shift to orange for the home kit.

“The latest Puma kit for the Toyota Cheetahs is something of a landmark,” says Puma South Africa’s marketing director, Brett Bellinger.

“Traditionally the home kit has been marked by a largely white-based treatment with the away kit orange. Puma and the management at the Toyota Cheetahs decided that we should start to introduce orange as the base colour for the home kits and we have done so in a gradual way. This is represented by the fading from white to orange in the home kit.”

Kobus le Roux, sales and marketing executive for the Totoya Cheetahs says even though the orange jersey will be labelled as “home kit” and the turquoise jersey as “away kit”, the team will play with both jerseys throughout the competition as required.

“This means our home fans will see us in both jerseys in Bloemfontein and we will also use both jerseys on tour. The new slick faded design makes for maximum brand exposure to our sponsors and maximum supporter loyalty to our fans.”
