The management of Baroka Football Club is adamant that the team won’t slip up in the last remaining five matches of the National First Division.
Baroka dropped crucial points when they played to a 1-1 draw against Mbombela United at Kanyamazane Stadium in Mpumalanga on Sunday.
The draw leaves the Ga-Mphahlele outfit just two points above Highlands Park who has 48 points.
In the last matches they face stern tests against Vasco Da Gama, Royal Eagles, Witbank Spurs, African Warriors and Milano United.
“Those are tough teams but we are ready for them. We haven’t been playing the way we used to in the past games but we can’t afford to slip up after so much hard work. We are aware of the crucial points we dropped and we will pick ourselves up. We just have to win at least three out of those matches to accumulate more points and sit comfortable on top,” Technical Director of the Team, Oupa Kgoadi said.
He also mentioned that their Captain, Dineo Shaku and defender Theresho Mmapheto won’t be available for team selection against Vasco Da Gama at Parrow Park on Saturday due to suspension.
“Both of them are out on suspension but they will be back for the game against Polokwane City Football Club on 24 April. We do have players who can fill their positions in their absence,” Kgoadi said.
