From the nearly 700 cyclists who braved the demanding PPC Kremetart Stage Race on Saturday An-Li Kachelhoffer (5:17.25) and Bradley Potgieter (4:29.55) were first to cross the finish line in the elite categories of the 175 km challenge.
Cyclists are offered the best of both worlds during the road race and mountain bike challenge. The P & L Hardware Cycling Club of Louis Trichardt in conjunction with Kremetart Cycling, a Section 21 company, annually hosts South Africa’s only stage race with hundreds of cyclists descending to the town to participate in not only the road race but also the Total Mountain Bike Cross Country Olympic hosted at the Komatiland Forestry Hanglip on Sunday.
Talented local rider Kombo Bere did not disappoint. After finishing 11th overall in the 175 km on Saturday he claimed first place in the mountain bike challenge the following day.
This year was once again a major success with 860 entries for the event of which 699 entered for the stage race.
