Active JKA karekatas excel in a local tournament

Four karatekas affiliated to the recently established Active JKA Karate Club amassed silver and bronze medals at a Shotakan Karate Kata 1 tournament held at the hall of Noordeland High School.
Katlego Mokoma, u.8, won a silver medal in kata and his team mate Jolter Matsaung bronze. In the girls u.11 category Boipelo Mokgonyana and Kealeboga Talane made their team mates proud by also winning a bronze medal each.
Club instructor Eliphus Ntata said he was proud of his team’s achievements.
“They did well in the tournament. We competed against clubs which had good karatekas and to come out with silverware is a huge achievement,” Ntata said.
Seven clubs participated in the event.
