Polokwane City Football Club’s reserve team Head Coach, William Bayano Moloto is pleased with the progress his team is making in the Multi Choice Diski Challenge (MDC).
Since taking over the team in July this year, the Seshego-born mentor has managed to win three matches out of seven, thus putting his team in seventh position of the Challenge.
Moloto who previously played for Ria Stars Development team along the likes of Teko Modise, Vincent Kobola and Tlou Molekwane, currently with Cape Town City Football Club and Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club respectively, says his aim is to win the challenge.
“We did not start well but we picked ourselves up along the way and we are happy with the progress we have made thus far. We want to win the challenge and represent South Africa in Holland. That is the dream of every soccer player. We have the right technical team, the players who are hungry for success and I believe we can do it,” Moloto said.
In their last two matches before the Christmas break they will face a daunting challenge against the 2015/16 MDC winners Golden Arrows Football Club and the current log leaders Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club. “Those are the two teams doing well in the log. Celtic are on top and Arrows on the second spot. It is not going to be easy but we need to compete against the best in order to be the best,” Moloto said. He holds a Confederations of African Football Coaching Licence and South African Football Association Level 2 Coaching certificate.
The MultiChoice Diski Challenge is MultiChoice’s flagship corporate responsibility programme and consists of 16 team representative of the general Premier Soccer League (PSL).
The challenge is mainly aimed at fast tracking the development of young players into the PSL league and winning team wins at a trip to Holland for a four-day training camp at the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB).
