Karateka claim 40 medals at provincial challenge

Passionate and committed karateka affiliated to Kimura Shukokai karate club claimed a total of 42 medals when they outcompeted opponents from as far as Zimbabwe, Mokopane and Louis Trichardt during the Limpopo Karate Championships held at the Polokwane Wrestling Club hall last Saturday.
Sensei Marcia van Niekerk said the club was represented by 25 karateka and managed to scoop 19 gold, eight silver and 15 bronze medals in the competition.
She said it was a tough contest and applauded her athletes for a job well done.
Van Niekerk added that all her karateka did exceptionally well and she was pleased with their performance.
