South African Netball team centre-court player, Kanyisa Chawane has joined the United Kingdom super netball outfit Team Bath ahead of the 2020 Vitality Super league.
The Tzaneen born netball star was playing for University of the Free State and was named the best player of the Brutal Fruit Netball Premier League in 2018. She was also recognised as the Player of the Tournament and the best centre-court player at the National Championship in Port Elizabeth in 2018.
She was part of the South African netball team that finished fourth at the 2019 World Cup in Liverpool, England in July.
She is only the second player from the province to sign for a European netball team after Lenize Potgieter who recently signed for an Australian netball team Adelaide Thunderbirds.
Chawane was quoted to have said: “My goal has always been to play abroad and challenge myself. I always strive to do better and give my best on and off court. Hopefully, my skills and abilities will be of great contribution to Team Bath in 2020.”
Chawane recently received an MEC Special Award during the recent Limpopo Sport Awards.
