Polokwane City drops crucial points

Polokwane City Football Club’s 0-2 defeat, their third of the current Premier Soccer League season, at the hands of Stellenbosch Football Club on last Wednesday cost them crucial points
The club started the season well claiming the scalps of football giants Kaizer Chiefs Football Club and Super Sport United. Their impressive run in the league saw them qualifying for the semi-finals of the MTN 8 Cup for the first time cup since their establishment.
Tincy Tema, chief operations of the club said the loss against Stellenbosch was a wake-up call. “We have not been doing well lately but no team is weak. We had a plan and Stellenbosch had a plan but their’s worked. That is football, there are matches that we are going to lose and win,” Tema said.
Their next match will be against the high flying Golden Arrows at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on 26 October.
Arrows sits comfortably in seventh position with 10 points while City is in fourth position with 13 points after eight matches. “We need maximum points and we cannot afford to lose another match. We have a two week break which will give us ample time to prepare for the match. We have a good record against Arrows and we are adamant that we will come back home with three points,” Tema said.
