Some 40 motocross (MX) riders from the province commenced the season on a high note as they battled it out in various categories during the first round of the Limpopo MX Series held by Capricorn Racing Club outside the city on Saturday.
The adrenaline packed challenge saw riders competing in divisions that included the Pee Wee, 50cc, 65cc, 125cc, MX 1 and MX2 classes. All the participants aimed at gaining podium positions to get a good headstart on the score sheet of the series.
Organiser Dean Rudiger emphasised that the challenge was well attended and that riders came out in their numbers to commence with a race for the Limpopo MX Series champion title that is at stake. He invited riders to join the Capricorn Racing Club day that is planned for 4 April while the second round of the series to be hosted by Selati Racing Club is set for 2 May in Phalaborwa with the third round to be hosted by Manna Racing Club scheduled for 15 August in Nelspruit.
