Local tennis stars rake in the points

The ProKennex Mini Tournament was held at the Polokwane Tennis Club from 5 to 7 February.

The tournament saw entries from tennis players across the country, despite the threat of heavy downpours. A total of 73 players took part; some from as far as Pretoria.

This was the first of five tournaments where players accumulate points on the national ranking list.

The coordinator of the tournament, Ernest Faver, explained that they received entries from boys and girls in the u/12 to u/16 categories as well as in the open division.

“We also have quite a few top 10 players that are here chasing points,” he added.
