Limpopo to host 3rd installment of Sunshine Tour Golf Championship
The 18-hole golf course at Euphoria Golf Estate in the Waterberg area will be a hive of activity when it hosts the third installment of the Sunshine Tour scheduled for 22 to 25 April.
Expected in the province are European Challenge Tour golfers as well as golfers from the Sunshine Tour Southern Africa.
For the past two years the championship has been benefiting amateur golfers who are given the opportunity to play alongside professionals during the Pro-Am challenge, aimed at setting the tone for the tournament.
Mike Tauatsoala, Spokesperson for Limpopo Tourism Agency who are the partners of the championship said they are anticipating an exciting event. “The championship was scheduled for February but we had to postpone it to April due to Covid-19. We are hoping that European players will be able to travel to the country and participate in the event.”
He also added that the event will bring economic spin-offs to the Waterberg area. “The golfers who will stay in the Waterberg area will have a great impact on accommodation as well as other services that will make their stay comfortable.
“Small, medium and micro-enterprises from the five districts will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their products at Euphoria during the weekend.”
Renowned South African golfer, JC Ritchie looks forward to winning the title for the third year following his successes in 2019 and 2020.
