Swimmers make big splash at galas
Swimmers from the Eagar Aquatics Club excelled in several competitions that they took part in recently.
POLOKWANE – Swimmers from the Eagar Aquatics Club excelled in several competitions that they took part in recently.
Ude Fuchs was named the Victor Ludorum during the South African Schools Swimming Championships in Pretoria, while Sulé van der Merwe was named the Victrix Ludorum.
Club head coach, Douggie Eagar, said the swimmers did exceptionally well and he was proud of them.
“I am are very happy with the results we got in Pretoria and we proved to other provinces that we are the best. All the swimmers are hard workers and strive for the best,” said Eagar.
Christoff Ras travelled to Bulawayo in Zimbabwe with the national swimming team for the Zone 6 African Youth Championships, where he returned with a silver medal.
Ras was selected for the national swimming team following his great performance at the national championships, which were held at the University of Western Cape from March 13 to 17 last year.
Eagar said they were now preparing for the South African Age Groups Games, which will take place in Port Elizabeth in February.
