Warm welcome for new PPCC members
Members of the Polokwane Pedallers Cycling Club (PPCC) gathered at Pietersburg Laerskool last Friday to welcome new club members and talk about future cycling tournaments.
POLOKWANE – Members of the Polokwane Pedallers Cycling Club (PPCC) gathered at Pietersburg Laerskool last Friday to welcome new club members and talk about future cycling tournaments.
According to Ronel Delport, Polokwane Pedallers club president, the gathering was a social event for both old and new members.
She said the club would be preparing for the Lente Trap mountain bike and road race set to take place in August at the Polokwane game reserve. The race will also cater for young children.
She said cyclists practised every Saturday morning at the game reserve to prepare thoroughly for the Lente Trap. “We are still looking for new cyclists to join the club and help us grow the club big and take it to the next level.
“Some of our pedallers received Limpopo colours for the XCO and cross country races and this shows that we are on the right track,” Delport said.
She further said they were still looking for sponsors to assist the club with finances so that they could to participate in various cycling races.
Delport urged young people to take part in sport to live a healthy lifestyle and stay fit.
