Pretty birdies swing away

Lenanda van der Watt managed to defend her title with flair during the Polokwane Women's Open as 27 women golfers showed their mettle on the Polokwane Golf Club course.

POLOKWANE – Van der Walt, who hails from Akasia, Pretoria, defended her title as the overall victor by accumulating a score of 75 gross, winning the women’s A-division as well.

The A- and B-divisions were played in a stroke play format while the C- and D-divisions was contested in an individual stableford format.

Luanie van Rooyen outplayed her rivals in the B-division to win with a score of 87 gross.

The C-division win went to another visiting player, Elmarie Fogwell from Louis Trichardt, with a tally of 38 points.

The D-division winner, with a total of 33 points, was Khomotso Mdhluli.
