South Africa’s Kevin Anderson takes silver at the US Open final

Anderson played in his first grandslam final of his career.

POLOKWANE – Anderson was up against his friend, world number one, Rafael Nadal at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

At number 32, Anderson was the lowest-ranked U.S. Open men’s finalist since the ATP computer rankings began in 1973.

His opponent, Rafael Nadal, competed in 23 Grand Slam tournaments and won 16 of these.

Last night’s final was Nadal’s second Grand Slam title of the year.

The final scores for the match was 6-3 6-3 6-4
