POLOKWANE – Mitchell House and Groblersdal Academy’s first hockey teams recently faced off against each other in a friendly match on Mitchell House’s hockey field.

Mitchell House gave it their all, but lost 3-1 to Groblersdal.

Groblersdal coach, Jolene Makgoba, said she was surprised by how much skill the players showed on the hockey field.

“Hockey is a sport that some schools are only discovering now. It is good to see that these players are taking the game to heart.

“I would like to see hockey grow in po-pularity and become just as popular as soccer, rugby and netball,” she said.
