15 soccer players to fly Lim flag high

POLOKWANE – Fifteen players from Pemps are part of the provincial soccer team that is representing the province during the inter-provincial u/12 and u/13 soccer tournament that started last Friday and will end on Tuesday.

These players were spotted by the Limpopo Primary Schools Football Association scouts during the schools soccer league that was played between various schools in the province.

According to Mabine Mametja, Pemps sports coordinator, players who will be wearing the Limpopo colours are from various schools in and around Polokwane. “We played league matches to select talented players to represent the province in the inter-provincials. We have well balanced teams and I am certain that we will come home with a reward,” Mametja said. He added that Pemps was very proud of the players who made it to the provincial teams. He said the school sent many players to such tournaments every year and they always made the school proud ever since.

“We are looking forward to the tournament and the players have been preparing hard for it. I would like o encourage players to take the sport seriously and do their best.

“Coaches and schools should enter for such competitions more often to give players exposure and set a platform for them to a brighter future,” Mametja added.

Lesego Ramoroka, one of the players, said he was looking forward to the tournament and was keen to do his best and put the province on the map.
