The communities of the deep rural Masisi and surrounding villages will now be able to receive emergency medical rescue response services such as treatment and emergency transportation of the critically ill and injured patients.
LIMPOPO – The official opening of the Masisi Emergency Medical Service (EMS) station was attended by the MEC for Public Works and Infrastructure, Jerry Ndou, Heatlh MEC, Dr Phophi Ramathuba and the Vhavenda King, Toni Mphephu Ramabulana, last Wednesday.
The state-of-the-art buildings of the Masisi EMS were a project by Public Works.
Speaking at the opening, Ndou said the user-friendly EMS station is one of the priority programmes of the department and will render 24-hour emergency medical rescue response services such as treatment and emergency transportation of the critically ill and injured patients to the nearest appropriate healthcare facilities such as clinics and hospitals.
Ndou handed over 10 medical ambulances and five mobile ambulances which will serve the rural communities in Mutale.
Ramabulana said the opening of the Masisi EMS station was part of the better services delivered by government.
