The Memorable Order of Tin Hats (Moth) of Botha Shellhole in Polokwane had a meeting packed with action on Friday evening when a new recruit was inducted and members of Minefield Shellhole from Phalaborwa raided Botha Shellhole.
New recruit, Ben Vorster, was inducted amid much pomp and ceremony. “It is an honour and a privilege to officially be a member of the Moth,” Vorster said following his induction.
Led by Old Bill Acland “Skip” Bischoff, members of the Minefield Shellhole arrived with much jollity minutes before the meeting was about to take place.
Botha Shellhole Old Bill Ben Smit explained that a raid is what the Moth call a visit by members of one shellhole to another with the view of promoting harmony by making new friends.
During the meeting there was much hilarity when the members of Minefield Shellhole staged a coup d’état and took over the meeting for a short period after which order was restored and the meeting was allowed to continue.
Smit said the raid by Minefield Shellhole was a great success and the networking done mutually useful.
