5km dash to success in Standerton
The volunteers who made this event possible are Charl van Wyk, Johannes Vosloo, Krishnalal (Johnny) Ramdharee, Leandri van Wyk, Lia Niemand, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Marjorie Uys, Nicky Niemand, Priscilla Ramdharee, Renette da Sousa, Séan Jansen van Rensburg and Theo Schonveldt.
The Standerton Riverpark parkrun held their 249th weekly event on June 8, where 37 participants braved the cold to finish the 5km trail.
Kaywen Human finished his 10th parkrun in first place with a time of 22:18, followed by Mbali Nkutha who set a new personal best time of 24:42.
Timothy Hoop finished with a time of 25:22. Daleney Grobbelaar, a regular on the parkrun lineup, finished at 28:30.
Jose Joseph reached the finish line at 30:41, followed by Andrew Ainsworth (32:45). Patricia Madau crossed the line with a time of 32:45, closely followed by Thikolelwi Collins Mudau (32:46). First-timer Lehlohonolo Makhanya finished the dash in 36:28.
