FF Plus cleans up Oriental Plaza in Standerton

Much work still needs to be done to solve the problems these shopkeepers face daily.

Business owners at the Oriental Plaza in the Stanwest area are fed up with the Lekwa Local Municipality’s lack of maintenance of the area.

Several shopkeepers have expressed that they no longer feel like a part of the Lekwa community. Roads leading up to the shopping centre are in a shocking state, making it hard for customers to reach the shops.

Despite shopkeepers reaching out and reporting these issues to the municipality, nothing has been done to alleviate these struggles.

In an attempt to clean up the plaza, Clr Wilma Venter organised a clean-up campaign on February 18.

Residents from Ward 3 joined forces with the FF Plus to clean up the area that has been neglected by the municipality for several years.

Though this clean-up campaign yielded great results in returning the plaza to an acceptable state, much work still needs to be done to solve the problems these shopkeepers face daily.
