Champions chosen for Mpumalanga league

Athletes who will be representing the Mpumalanga cross country team was announced at the event.

SECUNDA – Schools and sports clubs came from far and wide to take part in the Mpumalanga Cross Country League that was hosted at Hoërskool Secunda on Saturday, 13 August.

Simon Sibisi of the South African Police Services Club won the 8km race for men 40 – 44 years old.

Dirk van der Heever from Secunda Marathon Club came first in the 8km race for men 35 – 39 and Siyabulela Mgweba came first in the men’a 30- to 34-year-old category.

The boys and girls’ 1km race in the eight-year-old category was won by Jason Brits and Nonkululeko Nkambule respectively.

Neels Nauta was the champion of champions when he finished first in the 6km race for men 65 – 69 years old.
