Photographer in Secunda collects pyjamas for children

Consider donating one set of pyjamas or money.

Photographer and homeschool teacher, Idalet Maritz, is busy with her next project at the Cosmos Kriel Children’s Home. Maritz is collecting pyjamas for all the children.

Some of the projects that Maritz and her group of volunteers, consisting of family and friends, have done at the children’s home include helping a school leaver prepare to live on her own.

They collected all the items necessary to decorate her room, including bedding, storage for clothing, kitchen items, and more.

Maritz and her group also sponsored one of the girls to go on a netball tour, collected blankets for each child at the home, and did renovations to the building and the play area.

The group already collected pyjamas for all the girls and asked the community to open their hearts and hands and donate money or pyjamas for all the boys.

The goal is to get 33 sets of pyjamas for the boys during this week.

According to Maritz, the teenage boys prefer sleeping in tracksuit pants and T-shirts, so donations of these are also welcome.

Maritz still needs two 4-5 year old sets of pyjamas, three 7-8 year old sets, two 9-10 year old sets, four 10-11 year old sets, six 12-13 year old sets, five 13-14 year old sets, five size small sets of pyjamas, four medium size sets, one large set and one XXL set.

Anybody who wants to donate pyjamas, money, or lunch, chips or a cold drink for the children can contact Maritz at 076 645 4305.

The banking details for this project is: I Maritz, Absa Bank, account number 407 518 7417, reference: Pyjamas Kriel.
