Charterhouse hosted the inaugural C-connect session for new teachers on Saturday January 22 as part of the School Community Group within the ADvTECH group. The new teachers present on Saturday are starting their journey as educators with the brand.

Teacher mentoring programmes are an effective staff development approach for beginner teachers, who are given a strong start to their careers.

The attendees session received invaluable information and good-practice tips from Gia da Silva, Daniella de Wit and Celeste Els, three teachers who have travelled the first-year teacher road. The presentations were supported by a session by Desmond Zeelie on emotional intelligence and the impact that the quality of a teacher’s EQ can have on the children post Covd-19.

“This experience will benefit our new teachers transitioning from the tertiary education space to build a interconnected network,” Zeelie said.
