One suspect arrested after Horizon shopping centre robbery
The suspects were caught after crashing less than a kilometre from the shopping centre.
One of four suspects who robbed a store at the Horizon Shopping Centre on Friday, August 15, was arrested after trying to flee the scene.
According to Jacques Norton from Beagle Watch Security, the robbery took place at about 15:30 while he was patrolling the area.

“I received information that a business robbery was in progress. As I approached the store, I saw four suspects coming out. They started shooting, and we chased them out of the centre,” said Norton.

The suspects were driving a white Kia Rio. A chase ensued down Sonop Street, where they collided with a VW Polo Vivo.

The collision occurred at the traffic lights at Sonop and Adderley streets. No fatalities were reported.

“After the accident, the suspects tried to flee again, running in different directions. Backup was called from other security companies, and one suspect was caught near a railway station,” he added.
The whereabouts of the other three suspects remain unknown. One firearm was recovered.
It has not yet been confirmed what was taken from the shop.
