Three Round Table clubs dish up hope in winter outreach

Round Table members unite to support vulnerable men this winter.

Round Table Florida 21, in collaboration with Northridge 117 and Sandown 150, hosted a soup outreach at Tower of Life in Krugersdorp on July 24.

According to Round Table Florida 21 chairperson Phillip van Wyk, about 200 servings of soup were distributed to vulnerable community members during the winter outreach.

Tower of Life provides temporary accommodation, meals and other essential support to homeless and vulnerable men, relying largely on community donations to continue its work.

During the outreach, Round Table members served hot soup and fresh bread rolls to residents staying at the facility, as well as homeless people from the surrounding community.

Van Wyk said the outreach was a success and demonstrated the value of community organisations working together to support those in need.

“It was encouraging to see members from three Round Table clubs come together to support an organisation that performs invaluable work every day,” he said.

He added that organisations such as Tower of Life, The Bethany House Trust and The Cradle of Hope rely heavily on public support and donations to continue assisting vulnerable community members.

“We encourage anyone who would like to make a difference to support these organisations directly or get involved through Round Table. Together, we can continue creating a positive impact where it is needed most,” Van Wyk said.
