Brand-new soccer kit for local team

According to the club, the kit will be used for one season and then handed over to one of the developing junior soccer teams in Matholesville as part of their efforts to give back to the community.

Being involved and engaging with the community can be beneficial for businesses and their surrounding communities, especially when it comes to endorsing sporting activities.

On Friday, June 11, club officials from Eyadini FC based in Matholesville collected a full soccer kit that was sponsored to them by Kings Butchery in Roodepoort.

The club is made up of veteran players who are involved in charity work and use soccer to stay fit and boost their morale.

“We want to say thank you to the management at Kings Butchery. Your support is gratifying, and we will take good care of this playing kit,” said club official, Siyabonga Dlamini.

According to the club, the kit will be used for one season and then handed over to one of the developing junior soccer teams in Matholesville as part of their efforts to give back to the community.

“Community involvement is the power to bring positive, measurable change to both the communities in which you operate, and to your business.

“We saw this as the perfect opportunity for us as a business to get involved in our community and sponsor a team with a soccer kit,” said business owner, Justin Pontas.

Every first Sunday of the month, the team pools some funds and invite the children in Matholesville for a heart-warming meal.

In the last month the team had some assistance from Spar Strubens Valley and other community members who donated sanitary pads, and appealed to the public and local business to assist with the much-needed items.
