Florida runners conquer Joburg’s toughest 21km
Ten runners from Florida Running Club represent at Pirates 21km.
Florida runners participated in the Pirates 21km, known as Johannesburg’s toughest half-marathon, on Sunday, February 15.
The annual event, hosted by Pirates Road Running and sponsored by Medshield, saw 10 Florida members conquer the challenging hilly route in Greenside.
The early stages of the race wound through the picturesque suburbs of Greenside and Linden, offering a deceptively calm start. However, the calm was short-lived, as the notorious Northcliff hills soon came into view, testing the runners’ mettle.
