Albion players vie for international exposure
More than 200 boys and girls benefited from clinics with international coaches.
Florida Albion Football Club welcomed several international coaches from the Spanish football club and La Liga competitors Levante Unión Deportiva during January and February.
According to Albion spokesperson Michelle Craddock, the Levante coaches held a series of soccer clinics at Albion’s home ground, Trezona Park.
“Each clinic featured a Levante coach supported by two coaches from Florida Albion,” says Craddock, adding that in addition to benefitting the players, the clinics also served as exposure for local coaches to professional European football instruction.
“More than 200 local boys and girls took part,” she says.
“The aim was to identify local talent for possible inclusion in an exchange student programme facilitated by the event’s sponsor, International Sports and Athletics Management, which assists local learners with opportunities to play and study abroad.”

Craddock adds that Florida Albion Football Club participates in many initiatives aimed at the development of and unlocking of opportunities for local players.
“We have amazing talent in this country, but access to opportunities is limited. We are fully committed to identifying talented players and giving them every chance to develop to their full potential.
“We’ve had many of our players over the years who have gone on to achieve great heights thanks to our good relations and development initiatives with international clubs.”
