Glenn Tippett (66), a seasoned runner and member of Dabulamanzi Canoe Club, completed a major milestone on March 7, when he ran his 500th parkrun.
This dedicated athlete, who has an impressive 13 Comrades Marathons under his belt, has been pounding the pavement and paddling the waters for years.

He first ran the Roodepoort parkrun in 2012 and has since run at 10 different parkruns.
“I’m very happy to have completed this milestone as it’s a target that I had set for myself,” he said, beaming with pride
The occasion was celebrated with family and fellow parkrun enthusiasts, who gathered to commemorate this significant achievement.
Regarding his future running endeavours, Glenn indicated a shift in focus towards shorter distance events.
“I am currently enjoying shorter distances like 10km and plan to participate in upcoming races soon,” he stated.
He also offered words of encouragement to aspiring runners, advising, “You will never be the last person,” emphasising the inclusive nature of the sport.
