Dedicated duo give back this Christmas
As ambassadors for the Wings of Inspiration both beauty queens are running a Secret Santa project for three of its care centers.
With great power comes great responsibility. After bagging several titles at the Royalty ZA Pageant, Taylor Da Costa, 16, and Tiffiny Nell, 11, are eager to use their forces for good by ploughing back into the community this Christmas.
Taylor won Miss Teen Royal Star ZA as well as the Overall Business Award, Overall Philanthropist Award and the Overall Public Choice Award.
Tiffiny walked away as the Ambassador of the Year and also received the Miss Junior Business Award, Miss Junior Philanthropist Award and the Miss Junior Public Choice Award.
As ambassadors for the Wings of Inspiration, both beauty queens are running a Secret Santa project for three of its Care Centers. They include the Wings of Inspiration Women and Children’s Shelter, Daycare Center and Elderly Care Center.
“We are very passionate about the project as many of the children might not know what it feels like to celebrate Christmas or receive a gift on Christmas day. We hope to fill that gap and give them something to look forward to,” Da Costa said.
“We are thus asking the community for their assistance in the form of a 2L ice cream tub filled with an item of clothing, stationery, face cloth, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, sweets and a toy – depending on the age of the beneficiary they have in mind.”
Although they’ve already managed to collect 113 tubs, they are still 147 short of their ideal goal of 260 Secret Santa tubs. They hope to distribute these tubs on Thursday, December 15.
This dedicated duo’s motto is; ‘Help us help others’ and if you would like to contribute to the cause and make someone smile this Christmas, Anthea can be contacted on 071 829 1293 for more information.
