The competition was tight from the outset, but by late morning it had become a nail-biter. Heading into the penultimate relay, Marian, Lourdes and McAuley houses were tied on 91 points each, leaving the final races to decide the winner.

With every baton pass watched closely, Lourdes managed to inch ahead, claiming the overall victory by just two points. Marian finished in second place, with McAuley close behind in third.

Adding to the atmosphere was the parent relay, a firm favourite on the calendar. Laughter and cheers echoed across the grounds as mums, dads and older siblings raced down the lanes, proving that Sports Day is as much about fun and community as it is about competition.

Principal Lynne Elfick praised the learners and families for their support. “We were thrilled to see our young Rosies competing with such enthusiasm and determination,” she said.

“The close scores, the laughter during the parent relay, and the wonderful support from our parents made it a truly memorable day.
