Caddies are taken care of at Bryanston Country Club

Golf caddies and staff have been well taken care of at Bryanston Country Club.
The country club’s general manager, Paul Leishman explained that the lockdown has affected the club and its members financially but he was happy to report all staff received salaries and there were no retrenchment.
“We are incredibly proud of the incredible work our BCC Charity Trust has managed to do in lockdown and by Mandela Day managed to raise R1 million for our caddies, staff and coaches,” he said. “Our members have been so generous and supportive of the club.”
The support from the members has assisted the caddies, who have had to work differently during the lockdown. Since reopening on 13 June, Bryanston Country Club revised its playing conditions and designated bunkers for certain caddies to rake, all this to limit staff interaction. The club has implemented safety protocols in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic and has seen new members join.
Leishman said there is a limited capacity for non-members to play on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday but visitors are welcome.”Other days are considered peak times and at present are reserved for members. Whether you are playing golf, tennis or just enjoying the tranquility of the Terrace restaurant or 4.2km walking trail, Bryanston Country Club offers a brief escape from Covid-19.”
