De Deur Police investigate decomposed remains
Police spokesperson Constable Mampho Mahlomola says the gender of the body could not be identified.
De Deur Police have launched an investigation after a badly decomposed body was discovered in an open veld at Doornkuil on September 21.
Police spokesperson Constable Mampho Mahlomola said officers received a distress call from a community leader after a passerby alerted him to the grim discovery.
“On arrival at the scene, police discovered a decomposed body of an unidentified person. After a thorough examination, police could not identify the body’s gender. An inquest case docket has been opened for investigation. The decomposed body will undergo DNA testing,” Mahlomola said.
