VANDERBIJLPARK.- It was a football mania at the Isak Steyl Stadium, with the venue hosting three important fixtures on Saturday.
It was a triple header with Metro Stars FC and VUT FC starting the day’s programme. The DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) fixture between Sekhukhune United and TS Galaxy also took place at the main venue.
These two fixtures started at 11:00 and 12:00 respectively. The DDC match between these two PSL reserve clubs kicked off at 12:00. Despite the scorching sun, local soccer fans were entertained with three goals, with the home team, Sekhukhune United, collecting maximum points, beating TS Galaxy 3-0.

The local soccer fans came in numbers to watch this encounter, the majority being Sekhukhune United supporters.
The home team never disappointed and produced a five-star performance to the delight of their supporters. United has improved a lot compared to when the DDDC started. They got beaten match after match until they regained their form under the nonsensical Coach Kaitano Tembo. Sekhukhune United was exciting to watch two seasons ago, but lost some key players to some of the ABC Motsepe League and Motsepe Foundation Championship teams.

They had to build a completely new team, and it took them some time to connect.
However, they are now the team to be, but their inconsistency is their main downfall. Meanwhile, in another game which formed part of the triple header, Jomo Cosmos suffered a 2-0 defeat to Free Agents FC in the ABC Motsepe League.
