Sukuma Lutsha successfully staged a New Year’s Fitness Party

The programme unfolded with military-style precision and high energy.

SEBOKENG.- In a strong opening salvo to the 2026 calendar, Sukuma Lutsha recently successfully staged a New Year’s Fitness Party, answering a call from members of Vaal Fitness Aerobics who proposed an early-year wellness activation to shake off festive-season excess and set the pace for the months ahead.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Sukuma Lutsha’s Luthando Bottoman said that the event marked more than just a sweat session as it doubled as a practical induction for the newly appointed Chairperson,  Thamsanqa Duma,  offering hands-on exposure to programme coordination, stakeholder engagement and on-the-ground execution within the organisation’s operational structures.

“The turnout reflected solid institutional backing and community buy-in. Key stakeholders were present and well represented, including the Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Kopano, and BK Lifestyle. Further reinforcement came from Mamba 501 Gym Corner, Team Masiza, and Thuli Morrisons, underscoring a united front in advancing fitness and youth development initiatives.”

The programme unfolded with military-style precision and high energy.

At the wrap-up, the Chairperson of Sukuma Lutsha, Thamsanqa Duma, extended appreciation to instructors, stakeholders, participants, and attendees, acknowledging their commitment and collective effort in making the event a resounding success.

By all accounts, the fitness party hit the ground running, motivating community members to start the year on the front foot while reinforcing values of health, unity, and active living.
