SHARPEVILLE. – The number of killings in the past few weeks has alarmed community of Sharpeville, who now live in fear in their own homes.
This comes after the mysterious killing of Mmifi Joseph Sekoane (51) of Vuka, Sharpeville.

Sekoane’s lifeless body was discovered early on Friday in his outside room after the family last saw him on Wednesday. He was found by one of his sisters lying on his bed, facing upwards in a pool of blood with a wound to the back of his head.
Sekoane’s sister Amelia Nkonyane says, “We were starting to get worried because we had not seen him in a few days. Joseph is someone who likes to be left alone so we thought he was just going in and out of his room as usual. Little did we know that he was no more.
“Joseph’s death has come as a great shock to this family. His window was left open but the door was locked. We suspect that something very unusual must have happened on the night he died,” says Nkoane.
As a mechanic, Joseph is said to have had good relations with many people around Sharpeville as he used to fix their cars.
“We are really heartbroken because his death was really unexpected. This is the second time that one of our siblings has been killed. We hope that the killer of our brother will be arrested,” Nkoane concludes, adding that they called emergency personnel and police to the scene.
