New Sedibeng Cricket Council

The Sedibeng Cricket Council held its AGM at the Dick Fourie Stadium in Vereeniging on 13 October 2020.

With COVID-19 shutting down all sport in the country, no cricket has been played since February. The Council was given permission to commence playing friendly games in November under strict COVID-19 regulations.
The league is planned to start mid-January next year.
A new committee was chosen at the meeting to take cricket in our area into 2021. The committee is:
A. Saloojee (Chairman), H. Coetzee (Vice chairman), B. de Wet (Treasurer) and S. Tayob (Secretary).
Additional members who were chosen are:
J. Lambrecht, J. Charlie, Q. Saloojee, D. Dinake, E. Varkevisser and D. Lloyd.
A T20 competition is also in the pipeline for when the new season starts in January. Huge emphasis is going to be placed on The Central Gauteng Lions Rural team this season after a disappointing last two seasons. All who are interested in playing cricket are urged to contact their local clubs in Vanderbijlpark, Sasolburg, Vereeniging, Meyerton and Roshnee.
