Missing woman found dead

The Barrage SAPS are still investigating the cause of the death.

SEDIBENG.- The missing woman whose car was found on the on N1 by the Barrage Police as reported by Sedibeng Ster last week was found dead after the extensive search was conducted by the police.

Shalila Parsotam, from Midrand whose car was found on the on N1 by the Barrage police as reported by Sedibeng Ster last week was found dead after an extensive search by the police.

Sedibeng Ster reported last week that the Barrage SAPS were informed by a neighbourhood watch about a car which was abounded on the N1. On their arrival, they found a blue BMW model 220d, abounded with blood stains on the passenger seat.

When they looked up the registration of the car it was found that it belonged to Shalila Parsotam, from Midrand. Police contacted her family who later came to the scene and they told the police that it was her car and that she was residing alone.

“The police conducted a search for her along the N1 but she was nowhere to be found. The search continued on the following day with the use of a chopper and K9 unit, with no success. On Sunday 21 February, when Parys SAPS conducted their daily N1 patrol, they realised that the field was burnt out and there was a slightly burned body that had a gun wound at the back of its neck,” Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Nombulelo Mohlakoana said. The Barrage SAPS are still investigating the cause of the death.
