VANDERBIJLPARK.– News that NWU Vaal have parted ways with their head coach, Tebello Kheswa, has come as a shock to many. This is the very same man who promoted the club to the ABC Motsepe League.
These news came as shock to many taking into consideration that NWU Vaal FC started their ABC Motsepe League 2020/2021 season on a high note when they beat Dube Continental FC 2-1 in the first league match.
This was before they lost to Highlands Park in the second game. As much as NWU Vaal Football Manager, Thomas Thema claimed that Kheswa contract came to an end with the institution, Sedibeng Ster Sport has learned that there is more into this matter.
Thema told Sedibeng Ster Sport Kheswa’s contract came to an end, and that they didn’t renew it. “The only thing that I can confirm is that Mr Kheswa’s contract has expired,” Thema told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
In an interview with a local radio station, Kheswa said that it came as a shock when he received a letter that his contract is being terminated with immediate effect and he must hand everything to the office and leave the NWU premises.
“I received a letter at a training session informing me that my contract has been terminated with immediate effect. It came as a shock to me and when I phoned the office to find out what is a problem I was told to read the letter. I was in tears reading the letter and the coaches that I worked with asked me what was the matter and I showed them the letter. They couldn’t understand as well, but this is part of life. I worked hard for this team to be promoted to ABC Motsepe League. I had big plans to bring professional football back in the Vaal. My aim was to take NWU Vaal FC to the GladAfrica Championships League next season. But I want to thank NWU Vaal management for the opportunity to be part of this institution. I enjoyed each and every moment of my time here and I’m going to miss everyone especially the players,” he said.
Kheswa is one of the people who were behind NWU’s Vaal Development League initiative and success. He has made a name for himself as a development coach, coaching Mohloli Secondary School in Sharpeville, VUT Development, Vaal Milano FC and SAFA Sedibeng Regional squads.
