SEDIBENG. – Reports doing the rounds recently is that the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) Executive Mayor (EM), Gift Moerane has apparently written a letter of intention to suspend to the ELM Municipal Manager (MM) Lucky Leseane.
It is said that Leseane has recently been failing in his duties as the administrative head of the ELM, and in the main not meeting deadlines of important engagements.
ELM Mayoral Spokesperson, Lebo Mofokeng has however disputed the contents of some of the reports that have been doing rounds on social media.
Mofokeng said, “The Executive Mayor tabled a report of misconduct against the Municipal Manager at the Municipal Council of the 15th April. The Council resolved that amongst other recommendations sighted in the report, the EM should write to the MM and afford him a right to representation, in a form of a written response within 7 days. I therefore dismiss media reports which suggest that the contents of the Executive Mayor’s letter to the Municipal Manager contained such wording.”
