Police investigate Morasta’s mysterious disappearance

The police in Boipatong are investigating the mysterious disappearance of Bonakele Michael Mbane(59) popularly known as Morasta.

BOIPATONG. -It is said that Mbane who resides in Winniespark has been missing since Tuesday 05 October after close friend sent him to make a withdrawal for her.

Ouma Lenong says, “On Monday 04 October I sent Morasta to go and pay a bill with money to the amount of R7000. He came back very late that day but the bill was paid. My grandchild showed me the proof of payment.”

Lenong says the following day she gave him her SASSA card and asked him to go and withdraw her pension.

“He was also going to check if his unemployment grant had been deposited. This was not the first time I asked this kind of favour from him and he has always delivered. He would never disappear just like that.”

Lenong says when Mbane did not return the following day she got very worried. On Thursday I went to his house to check if he was there but he wasn’t.

Lenong says she alerted some of the neighbours who were able to locate his brother and tell him about Mbane’s disappearance.

Brother Jerry Mbane is asking for the help of the community in finding his brother.

“Anyone who knows his whereabouts or what might have happened to him to please come forward with information.”

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela confirmed that a missing person’s report had been filed with the police.

“Anyone with information can contact Detective Warrant Officer Mogajane on 079 430 0201.”
