Unemployed demand jobs

“The management assured us that it will try to start employing a few of us as part time workers."

VANDERBIJLPARK.- The members of seven Unemployment Community Forums from the region protested outside Kingsley, a soft drink making company, and Cape Gate in Frikkie Meyer Boulevard early this morning.

They were demanding to be employed. The President of one of the forums, Jozi Joseph Motingoe, said that about 400 of their members started to picketed outside the gates of Kingsley and Cape Gate early morning as they demand that the local people should be given priority of employment.

He said they have learned that the local companies hire mostly foreigners. Motingoe appreciated the cooperation received from the Gape Gate management.

“The management assured us that it will try to start employing a few of us as part time workers.” Motingoe said that at Kingsley they have not met with the management.
