BOIPATONG. – A fire that engulfed a four room shack left three children with the clothes they managed to grab.

The incident happened at Winnie’s park, section in Boipatong around 09.00am on 20 February. There children were outside the shack attached to an RDP house when they saw a flame.

Their father, Ntate Mohlamme Ntate Mohlamme and his wife were relaxing in their two roomed RDP house.

“We heard the children screaming for help. I jumped to check what was going on. Unfortunately, the fire was too strong.

“I’m just grateful that none of the kids were hurt in the fire.”

Another child who is disabled was rescued by his siblings. Among the items that burned beyond recognition were clothes,  appliances, blankets and a wardrobe.
