Deadly Rose Road claims two lives

A case culpable homicide is investigated following a tragic accident in De Deur.

DE DEUR – Yet another horrific car accident has taken the lives of motorists in De Deur.

Rose Road, famously known as the deadly road claimed two lives when a vehicle rolled and capsized in the early hours of Wednesday, July 24.

According to police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda, at about 04:00, they received a complaint about an incident at Rose Road next to Deboniarpark.

“Upon arrival, the complainant found a white Figo overturned. The driver alleged that he gave four people a lift to Residensia and he bumped an Ambulance from the back and lost control of the car,” he said.

“Two people who were in the vehicle lost their lives and were declared deceased at the scene, while three more were taken to a local hospital. We are investigating a case of culpable homicide,” he said.
